Found in the Kenosha Democrat May 2nd 1850 New York Superior Court,- Albert G. Bagley the celebrated Gold Pen Maker on Broadway near Cortlandt Street has been on trial in this court during the past week for the seduction of a young and very interesting girl of only sixteen summers, who was employed in 1847 in his establishment. Her parents, to make it the more sure of keeping her from any possibly injurious influence from others in his employ, only consented to let her work for him under his (Mr. Bagely's) own personal sight and supervision-- in his own private office, "he promising to protect and be a father to her." This trial proves how he, with Satan's wiles, became a friend to her, be being only a father to her child. We believe Mr. Bagley has a wife and one or two legitimate children. The Jury gave $1,600 damages for the plaintiff. This, if respectable me hereafter shun him and his business as they should, may theach him and others of like class to beware in the future.
