James W. Laughlin

James W. Laughlin was born in Dublin Ireland, Jan 27th 1864. He was the son of John and Catherine Laughlin; John brought his family to America in 1870. James was educated in the public schools of Wabash and Rich Valley, Indiana. On October 26, 1892 James Laughlin married Catherine H. Schnelker.

James Laughlin served as a telegrapher for the Wabash Rail Road from the time he was fifteen until he was eighteen. From eighteen until twentyfive Laughlin served as a frieght and ticket agent for the same rail road

On October 13, 1896 James Laughlin began manufacture of the Laughlin Fountain Pen Company.

Mr. Laughlin is a Catholic, and a Democrat. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Laughlin enjoys automobiling and traveling.

Mr. Laughlin's offices are in the Lightner Building. He resides at 233 25th Street
