Kamakura Pens

Kamakura Pen's Archive.

This is a collection of Fountain Pen Articles, Fountain Pen Histories and Fountain Pen Essays that have been published either online or in obscure books or jorunals. Things that I found while doing research on other pen topics and I thought were too good to be lost to obscurity and should be put online where a Google search could unearth them easily for the fountain pen enthusiast and fountain pen researcher.. If you know of an article that should be placed here, please let me know.

Feel free to use this information as you like, but I would appreciate a mention for the Kamakura pens site if you publish an article, or book with information gathered here. Recently, I have seen people publish pen articles exclusively from my archive with out any mention at all and that always breaks my heart.

Stylographic Pens.

Mr C. W. Livermore introdnced to the
notice of the pablic the first Stylographic
Pen ever put on the market and invented
and applied the -word "stylographic" to
this class of writing instrument. For
y ears the people were content to pay $3
for a genuine Liverinore Pen and the same
pens are yet doing good service. The
success of these pens led unscrupulous
persons to get up inferior imitations,
which they offered at such low prices
that many persons not understanding the
difference" were induced to buy them. Tbe
Livermore Company therefore cut down
the price of their improved Stylographic
Pens to $2.00 each, to give everybody a
chance to have the best article of the
kind. You can buy them for that money
by remitting the amount to the Stylograpbic
Pen Co., 290 Washington Street,
Boston; the pen together with a package
of superior ink will be sent by return
mail, and the money will be at once refun-
ded if they do not prove to be perfect
and satisfactory in every respect. There
is nothing more appropriate than A Stylograph
as a gift to a lady or gentleman.
The Stylographic Pen Co. is tbe largest
concern of the kind in the world with
branches at New York, Chicago and London,
Eng.

The Stylographic pen
is one of the
necessaries of our modern civilization.
if Hood's song had been "Dip, dip. dip.**
Instead of "Stitch, stitch, stitch." it
would have* lost its text at the hands of
Mr. Livermore. who has given his age
this perfection of pen, penholder.* and
case, and ink. all in one handsome, and
always at hand and ready for use.
The inventor has put some new improvements
into it, and now what remains
but for every scribe and letter
•writer to find it on his desk. Ink, filler
and cleaner, all go with it. And to
crown all, the price has been reduced
to 82. Send that amount to the sole
agent, Mr. Louis E. Dunlap, 290 Washington
St. Boston. Mass, and the return
mail will bring you the most perfect
pen.— Contributor, JRafton, Mass
