Kamakura
Pen's Archive.
This is a collection of Fountain Pen Articles,
Fountain Pen Histories and Fountain Pen Essays that have been published
either online or in obscure books or jorunals. Things that I found
while doing research on other pen topics and I thought were too
good to be lost to obscurity and should be put online where a Google
search could unearth them easily for the fountain pen enthusiast
and fountain pen researcher.. If you know of an article that should
be placed here, please let me know.
Feel free to use this information as you
like, but I would appreciate a mention for the Kamakura pens site
if you publish an article, or book with information gathered here.
Recently, I have seen people publish pen articles exclusively from
my archive with out any mention at all and that always breaks my
heart.

Pen Manufacturer Plots
Round-the-World Hop
- 'NEW 'YORK, March 30.
Pen manufacturer Milton Reynolds
plans to attempt a record 55-hour,
20,000-mile round-the-world flight
beginning here at 12:01 a. m. CEST)
Saturday, April 5, 'a representative
said.
The spokesman, Franklin Lamb,
said Reynolds'' aim would be virtually
to halve the 1938 global recjord
set by Howard Hughes of 91
hours, 14 minutes. A pilot and
flight engineer will handle the
plane, with "Reynolds occasionally
helping at the controls.
At a news conference Lamb .said
the record try would be made in
a remodeled two-engined, high
wing Douglas A-26 monoplane purchased
at Los Angeles from government
surplus 'equipment.
Lamb said that because of a Russian
rejection of the plan to fly
the 'short route" over Soviet territory-
as "inadvisable," the plane
would have to cover 6,000 miles
more than Hughes' ship.
Stops are planned at Paris, Cairo
Calcutta, Shanghai,'Tokyo and Anchorage,
Alaska.
