Parker Airship to Arrive on Nov. 22 Plane Christened by Amelia Earheart Coming to Decatur The Fairchild airplane, owned by the Parker Pen Company, will arrive in Decatur Friday, Nov., 22, sometime after noon. The plane, christened by Miss Amelia Earheart, famed aviatrix, is bringing special air shipments of the company's products to local dealers. Every modern device insuring maximum safety has been incorporated in the monoplane. It has a 410 hp moto instead of a 220 hp motor, providing greater safety when it is taking off in small fields. Besides this, it has such features as brakes on the wheels, self starter, landing lights, cabin heater, etc. The plane's pilot, Edgar LaParle, has had 3,000 hours of flying expereince. |
