Caws # 323 Cam Spiral Safety
A rare pen with a lot of history

Above is a the Caws Safety Pen. The caps on these pens were rather clever. The cap works as a key that fits into the end of the barrel and is used to rotate the end, which ejects or retracts the nib from the barrel.

A pen like this is quite rare, but Caws also made these safety pens in lovely gold and silver overlay patterns. I have never seen one, but have heard from a few people who own an example. If you have such an example, I would love to hear from you.
