Banker Fountain Pen
Here is a very rare Japanese "Bank" An obscure Tokyo pen maker that started manufacturing pens in the early 1930's and quietly disappeared before 1960. I've seen a few Banks before, and they all tend to have brightly colored celluloid caps and barrels. This one has a deep black and gold marble colored celluloid. The jewels in the ends are more of an orange color. I think they are made of an orange celluloid or out of red hard rubber. In this image they look like red plastic, so you have to trust me that they look a lot better in person. This is quite an attractive pen. The nib is a rare falcon style medium. It is nice and smooth and has a little flex to it, for calligraphy. The Pilot style sword clip has the stylized Japanese kanji characters for "Ginko" which means "Bank" Several American pen makers used the name and trademarks Bank or Bankers in the US, but this Japanese pen is not related to them, other than that Banks have money no matter where they are, and that brings a flare of prestiege to the name.
