Bunshudo Pen
Here is a very rare Japanese Bunshodo fountain pen. Today, Bunshodo is a huge publishing company, and has been one in Japan for over 150 years. In addition to publishing books, the company also owns a huge chain of book stores. The barrel on this pen is marked "Bunshodo" Apparenlty the company ordered these pens made and likely sold them from their bookstores. The barrel is an interesting webbed celluloid in an amber color. The cap is made of vulcanized hard rubber. An artist coated the cap with rich dark red urushi lacquer. I am not sure if the cap is original to the pen, but the threads fit perfectly, and the colors coordinate, so it may very well be the original cap. .
