Carey Fountain Pen Co. |

I haven't been able to find much about Carey's history. He appeared on the fountain pen scene in the early 1900's and disappeared in the 1920's. I have heared rumors that he was also a political cartoonist. However it is certain that he made some very lovely fountain pens.
George Kovalenko provided the following information in a post at Lion & Pen: The Carey Pen Co. was at 196 Broadway Ave., New York from
1908-10. I found a Boston address in 1911, at 367 Washington, and by 1914
Carey Pen Co. was located at 1433 Broadway Ave., New York, and at 291
Washington in Boston in 1917. Carey Pens, Carey Art Studio, and Carey
Cartoon Service were all listed at 1433 Broadway, New York in 1917, and
he also lived at the same address. Carey Art Studio was at 218 W. 42nd
St. & 333 5th Ave., New York in 1920-21, and Carey Pens was at 1354
Broadway, and lived at the same between 1920-29. If anyone has any information to share, please let me know at: |
