Every once in a while I spot Civil War era pens for sale with the nib imprint J C Aikin. Most likely this is James Cornelious Aikin, who would later join with Henry Lambert to make Aikin Lambert & Co.

This is interesting because it shows that Aikin started making pens on his own before Lambert came along.
