Edward Todd created high quality gold pens and briefly
joined with Mabie Todd before going into business for himself. As
fountain pens became popular in the late 1880's Edward Todd ordered
hard rubber holders from Julious Schnell and sold these fountain
pens.
Below is an image of one of my favorite pieces of ephrema, an 1893
Business card, signed by Edward Todd himself. If I understand the
card correctly, Edward is writing to appologize for a slow return
of a repaired pen. The customer sent the pen on the 15th of September
and the repair isn't finished after two weeks. Wow... I oftenhave
to wait six months to a year to have some of my fountain pens repaired. |
