Dear Readers,

The good news is that it finally stopped raining this morning . The sun came out for a little bit this morning, but now it is cloudy again.

In today's mail, Ron-san received several issues of Pilot Times from a friend of his at Pilot. These little magazines have dates that range between 1935 and 1938. These are a little easier for me to translate when comparison with the 1920's catalogs.

While I started the translations for the Pilot Times, Ron-san fixed a Pilot Super 100 for a good customer from London. It is fun to watch Ron-san do "surgery". However fountain pen restoration is something that I would never want to try. I do not like to get my hands dirty. Picking up the filthy fountain pens at antique shows is bad enough.

I am a little surprised by how diversity our customers are. Today I took several pens to the post office for shipment. These were to be delivered to addresses in Israel, Hong Kong, England, France and the United States. The Japanese post office seems to requirement different invoice for each country. It takes a long time in the post office to complete the invoice papers. I understand why this work was so quickly directed to me.

Also today, I experimented with several of Ron-san's pens. I discovered that I like silver pens. I do not like silver jewelry, I always prefer gold, but with pens, gold seems too weighty. Silver is just right for a pen if it has gold trim.
