Today was one of the most lovely Sundays that I have ever seen. It wasn't hot, but sunny. Very sunny. The Okinawa sun is very strong. When I first moved here I was surprised to see omen walking around in space suits. I'm serious. Their suits are light weight but made of some metalic reflective material that covers every inch of their bodies. The first time I walkd through the park I thought I was in a SF movie.

This Sunday little Ren-kun, my little partner, was sick in bed, so I went it alone this week. I tried all the antique stores along highway 329. Last time I visited these places, I took a pen case with me full of Pilot Elites and Supers and some later pens. I learned that when I described the pens by name alone, the dealers would get this far away look. With the actual pens they seemed to understanding right away what I was looking for, and this time I was in luck. I was able to pick up many early Pilot pens. None of them were in fresh condition, but the still looked good, and the price was more than reasonable.

It was one of the proudest moments of my career when I carried a box full of fountain pens to Ron-san's house. Usually we do not find this many fountain pens, and the dealer told me to come back next week because he would try to find more pens. Happy.
