Today was Sunday, which means that it is Pen Hunting Day. Little
Ren-kun and I went pen hunting together. He is only 5, but he
has a better eye than I do. He tells everyone that I am his girlfriend,
which makes quite a few people jump with surprise.
We went to the flea markets, but today these were a little depressing.
There was nothing much here but old clothes and broken toys. Even
Ren-kun looked disappointed, but then Ren spotted a Pilot Elite
in the tall type. It is not an especially valuable pen, but since
it only cost us 50 yen, (equivalent to 51 cents) I think we can
make a profit on this investment.
I was surprised that a few people thought Ren-kun was my son.
I never thought I looked like a mother. I am not sure how I feel
about this.
It was a nice sunny day, so after pen hunting we stopped for
ice cream. It was a nice day, I just wish we had found more pens.
