Welcome to the Kamakura Fountain Pens catalog.

Nearly every day on e-bay I have a few fountain pens listed at auction. These auction pens typically sell for under $300, some for far less. I start these fountain pen auctions off with $1 and no reserve. It is nice to let the bidders decide what the fountain pens are worth. Often the buyers get a real bargain, and I like to see fountain pen people happy.

However the fountain pens here in the catalog are all special pens, for one reason or another. Either they are extremely rare or I went through a great deal of effort to acquire them. These are all high grade pens and the prices show that. As Alfred Dunhill, often said, "The quallity is remembered long after the price is forgotten."

Nevertheless, I am much more of a collector than a dealer. None of the prices are set in stone and often nice pen people can talk me down on the prices or offer fountain pens for a partial trade. If you have something of interest to trade for these fountain pens, I certainly would like to hear from you. I am always looking for high-end Paul Wirt fountain pens, Waterman's, Conklins and Parkers. I am also looking for unusual early(pre-1880) fountain pens.

For now, my main payment system is through Paypal. If you see a fountain pen here that you would like to buy or propose a trade, then send me an e-mail at catalog@kamakurapens.com and I will reply with the details.

If you are looking for a fountain pen that is not pictured in the catalog, please send me an e-mail. I may have an example of that fountain pen on hand and not listed it, or I may know a Japanese fountain pen collector who has the pen you are looking for.

I am also currently working on a book about collecting Japanese fountain pens. I had hoped to publish this book already, but I care for a very sick little boy, and many of my plans have been put on hold.

Stay Well,

Dr. Ron Dutcher
