1968 Flying Cranes. This is a Pilot
Elite-style pen.
To the Japanese, Cranes symbolize royality and a long happy life.
Japanese red crested cranes can live a long time and they mate for
life.
What makes this pen truly special is the rare signature: Kyuzan
Hisao.
The pen uses togadashi maki-e technique, which was flawlessly done.
Several different grades of gold dust are used to give the art work a
sense of depth. Even when this pen was released 30 years ago it was a
high-priced collectors item.
