Here we have President Andrew Jackson, "Old Hickory" standing straight and tall. On the table we see what looks to be a goose or swan quill. I've learned that Goose quills had more flex and lasted longer, but Swan quills made a finer point. After seeing examples of Jackson's writings, he may have used a swan quill.
