Kamakura Fountain Pens

Below is an image of the Caws Dashaway #130, the same model pen used by Presidents Grover Cleveland and Benjamin Harrison.

President Cleveland actually said, according to a Caws catalog:

"I find the Caw's Dashaway Fountain pen very valuable as a signature pen."

What the image below fails to demonstrate is the large size of this pen. The ink bottle is much larger than modern ink bottles. The nib is about the same size as a Waterman #8 but the tines are a little longer.

The ink bottle is also quite a rarity. Caws bottles are not so hard to find, but finding one that still has the original cork and label is next to impossible.

Shown here is the Caws Dashaway #130. The same model pen as the one that Presidents Benjamin Harrison and Grover Cleveland owned. The Caws Dashaway is the only pen that has been endorsed by two presidents.
