Paul Wirt Fountain pen #8 Mint with price sticker

Unfortunately, This image does little to show the size of the fountain pen. It is huge. In the 1890 Wirt catalog this was listed as Wirt No. 8 The original price was $3.75

I was very lucky to find this pen at a low price. The seller claimed that, "the pen was missing its insides." I explained to him that since the pen is an eye dropper filler there are no "insides" He understood this, but what he meant was that the pen was missing the section nib and feed.

Since the pen had a price tag, I bought it anyway and was latter delighted to find that the section, nib and feed were actually stuck inside the cap. They were not missing at all.

With a little heating, I was able to finally pry out the section and restore the pen to a pristine example of an early huge Paul Wirt fountain pen. One of my favorites.
